Day One

  • Arrive at your hotel near Salen, on the Isle of Mull, in time for our Welcome Meeting and drinks.

 

Day Two

  • Clamber up an Iron Age Fort with a commanding viewpoint to Aros Castle, a former stronghold of the Lords' of the Isles.

  • Enjoy lunch overlooking the head of Loch na Keal and a local white-tailed eagle territory.

  • Learn about Inch Kenneth and the former owners of the island, the notorious Mitford family.

 

Day Three

  • A dramatic coastal walk offering stunning views out to the Treshnish Isles and Staffa.

  • Walk along a raised beach and scramble down a grassy gulley to visit the Whisky Cave, home of an illicit still.

  • A chance to encounter a variety of wildlife associated with Mull's moorland environment, including Red Deer.

Day Four

  • Transfer to the privately owned Isle of Ulva, once home to the grandfather of the explorer David Livingstone

  • Explore the deserted crofts, remnants of the Highland Clearances and visit a restored thatched croft cottage.

  • Scan the dramatic coastline and moorland above looking for a variety of bird life and the wild goats of Ulva.

 

Day Five

  • An early start for the legendary ferry crossing to the sacred Isle of Iona, birthplace of Christianity in Scotland

  • After exploring the flora of the Machair we ascend Dun Bhuirg where excavation in the 1990's revealed first century beads.

  • A final climb up Dun-I gives magnificent views to the Paps of Jura, Dhu Heartach Lighthouse and the Treshnish Isles.

Day Six

  • After a leisurely breakfast, return to Oban on the ferry and enjoy your last magical views of Mull.
