The MV Isle of Mull in Oban

Day One

Independent arrival to your hotel on the Isle of Mull.

Duart Castle can be seen from the Mull Magic walk above Loch Spelve

Day Two

We walk to the enchanting settlements of Killean and Gualachaolish and learn about the way of life in days gone by. We enjoy the magical views over Loch Spelve and hope to catch a glimpse of the white-tailed sea eagle hunting on the moorland above. The afternoon walk descends to an old burial ground and ruined medieval chapel with panoramic views over Duart Castle to the Sound of Mull and Loch Linnhe.

A walking holiday to the summit of Speinne Mor near Tobermory

Day Three

A climb along the ridge between the Mishnish Lochs and Loch Frisa takes us up to the rounded summit of Speinne Mor where we enjoy breathtaking views of Tobermory, Ben More, Coll and the Small Isles. A steep descent leads us down onto the shore path of Loch Frisa where we watch out for eagles, hen harriers, red-throated divers, kestrels, buzzards and ravens.

Inivea above Calgary Bay was home to the ancestors of David Tennant

Day Four

This circular walk around the silver sands of Calgary Bay is dotted with stirring ruins, and provides an opportunity to visit the deserted township of Inivea, once home to the crofting ancestors of the actor David Tennant. Calgary is one of the island's most photographed locations with its shimmering white shell sand beach and craggy headlands - home to a rich variety of birdlife and the haunting ruins of stone forts and abandoned villages.

Staffa Rum and Skye can be clearly seen from Erraid on a clear day

Day Five

A morning walk takes us along the nature reserve trails of Tireragan to Traigh Gheal where flowering plants abound, primroses bloom in the woodlands and many beautiful orchids favour the damper ground. An afternoon walk takes us onto Erraid, the tidal island where David Balfour was stranded in Robert Louis Stevenson's 'Kidnapped'. On a clear day, the Treshnish Isles, Staffa, Rum and Skye are visible.

Seagulls following the ferry off Lismore Lighthouse

Day Six

After a leisurely breakfast, return to Oban via the ferry and enjoy the last magical views of Mull. But, you may well cancel all your plans and further your stay on this enchanted isle, as there's still so much to see and do!
