What's Included in your Wildlife Walking Holiday?

Day One

  • Arrive at your hotel in Tobermory, on the Isle of Mull, in time for our Welcome Meeting and Dinner.

 

Day Two

  • A morning boat trip across the Sound of Mull to the remote Morvern peninsula.

  • Enjoy a musical extravaganza of resident and Summer migrant's birdsong in the local woodland.

  • Search shady glades and coastal heath for early Spring butterflies and moths.

Day Three

  • Walk on the unique machair environment of one of the most photogenic beaches in Western Scotland.

  • A short uphill path leads us to the haunting ruins of Inivea, the ancestral home of Dr. Who actor, David Tennant.

  • Visit the Iron Age fort of Rubha nan Oirean guarding the entrance to Calgary Bay.

Day Four

  • Discover the devastating effect the Highland Clearances had on the population of the island of Ulva.

  • Visit Livingstone's Cave, where archaeologists found fragments of human bone dating back to 5650 BC.

  • Ponder a prehistoric solitary Standing Stone and wonder at it's significance to a Bronze Age community.

Day Five

  • Learn about the infamous blowing up of a Spanish Galleon and the ongoing search for treasure in Tobermory Bay.

  • Find out the history surrounding the reintroduction of the White-tailed Eagle, Britain's largest bird of prey.

  • Our walk to the lighthouse at Rubha nan Gall affords spectacular vistas to Ardnamurchan and the Isle of Rum.

Day Six

  • After a leisurely breakfast, return to Oban on the ferry and enjoy your last magical views of Mull.
